About the Department
STaCS is a multi-disciplinary department with teaching and research in the areas of social work, therapies and community and youth work. Research and knowledge paradigms are used creatively across and between areas to provide dynamic, social and racial justice-oriented teaching and research. Most of our programmes prepare graduate to work in the therapies, social work, or youth and community work professions.
About the Role
The technician will be responsible for assisting students on Art Therapy courses with the practical element of their studies and helping to maintain the studio spaces in which they produce artwork. The post-holder is responsible for facilitating the creative and critical practices of students using the Ceramics Art Practice Area, fostering an environment that is rich, engaging, and conducive to experimentation and the development of students’ work.
About the Candidate
The post-holder will help facilitate the course tutors in maintaining three studios used for experiential art-making sessions, liaising where necessary with Estates where cleaning and repairs are required.
The post-holder will assist students with the installation of a final year exhibition, overseeing the safe preparation of the space and hanging of work while ensuring necessary tools and materials are at their disposal.
