Salary: £30,176.19 - £34,403.15 pa incl LW

35 per week (Full time, fixed term for 1 year)

New Cross, London

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to play a key role in the administrative support team of Goldsmith’s highly regarded Department of English & Comparative Literature (ECL). The team coordinates all student and staff affairs, and links the Department with the College’s central student support services, finance, procurement and human resources departments. You will find the Department a hard working group of individuals, who are friendly and collaborative. You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of administrative support to our postgraduate programmes and be the first point of contact for postgraduate students. You will also be required to collaborate closely with the Undergraduate Coordinators within ECL and with staff in other departments, and you will be involved in many aspects of the department’s operations, from helping at student events to facilitating creative writing seminars.

You must have experience in the use of IT platforms and management systems to process multiple tasks, be competent in addressing problems under pressure, be organised, intuitive and respectful towards the needs of students. Possessing a positive and supportive attitude towards enabling academic staff to support students is important. You must also have an understanding of the workings of HE organisations and be keen to uphold best practice in operational effectiveness to ensure student experience remains a priority.
