What makes Goldsmiths unique?

Goldsmiths is a world-renowned university that has a reputation for rigorous and innovative academic work; creativity has long been our hallmark. Academic excellence and imaginative course content combine to make a place where creative minds can thrive.

About the department

Research & Knowledge Exchange

The Department delivers the University’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy. The Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange provides academic leadership of this area, and the Department is under the strategic management of the Director of Research and Innovation who reports to the Pro Vice-Chancellor. The Department as a whole supports: the development of research and knowledge exchange bids; post award management (including statutory reporting); the University’s compliance with research-related codes of conduct and other regulatory requirements; business enterprise and knowledge transfer; the University’s REF submission; and civic and policy engagement.

GOAL

Goldsmiths has set up a unit, called Goldsmiths Online and Adaptable Learning (GOAL) with the following mission:

To provide an integrated learning eco-system that highlights what is best about Goldsmiths and reaches the people who can most benefit from what Goldsmiths has to offer, irrespective of physical location, time commitments, and educational backgrounds.

Realising this mission will mean working with academic departments, professional services at Goldsmiths and external teaching, development, and delivery partners to deliver online and hybrid teaching across the University, including the development of short courses and micro-credentials, to provide flexible learning opportunities.

About the role

The role holder will be expected to proactively support relevant short course, CPD, and executive training opportunities, to heighten and maintain growth. This will involve day to day management and support for specific programmes, providing advice on promotional activities and solving day-to-day operational problems and challenges that may occur.

About the candidate

You will be a self-starter, ideally with an established track record of working in a target-driven context. Flexible and versatile, your proven project or programme management skills together with experience of collaboration with commercial organisations, professional and academic colleagues, will enable you to rapidly build effective relationships with our external partners, academic Schools, and Professional Services.

Benefits

We have generous benefits – an agile working environment, 28 days’ annual leave plus six paid closure days (four at Christmas and two at Easter) plus all Bank Holidays, great transport links, a defined benefit pension scheme, support for professional development and a broad range of wellbeing initiatives such as staff choir, running club, staff networks and creative writing classes.
