Goldsmiths is world famous for its creativity. Our brand reflects and reinforces our reputation as an inventive learning community with the confidence to push boundaries.

We are looking for a creative designer who can bring Goldsmiths to life through digital and print that punches through the crowded university market. We are proud of our brand and our visual style but are always evolving it as we develop new campaigns.

What you will do

You’ll work with our content teams and colleagues across Goldsmiths to create assets that run across digital channels and physical locations. This could be a big campaign like Clearing or Welcome Week, or smaller commissions like an event. Working from our brand guidelines, you will find visual ways of getting across our key communications messages and needs. This will involve producing everything from social media posts, website design, and brochures to venue dressing.

You’ll work directly with clients and therefore will manage design projects from initial brief through to delivery, all supported by others in our small design studio.

We are currently operating hybrid working. You will be in the office at least two days a week, one of which is a ‘core’ day when the whole team is in. This role is not being offered as remote working only.

Where the role sits

This role sits within the Communications, Marketing and Recruitment (CMR) Directorate. We are a central team responsible for communicating what Goldsmiths does internally and to the rest of the world, as well as ensuring potential students are impressed with our academic offer.

What the successful candidate needs

You’ll be a professional designer with extensive experience of working in a design studio. You will be keyed into youth and design trends. You will know how to work within brand guidelines and will bring a wealth of creative ideas to ensure our communications punch through.

You will be an expert in Adobe Creative Suite and at home creating documents and original artwork for a wide range of uses.

You’ll be able to work at a fast pace with a project delivery focus while ensuring quality.

You’ll also be skilled at managing stakeholders with competing needs, helping them with their requirements and diplomatically managing expectations.
