With people at the heart of everything we do, as a Reader Services Supervisor, you will manage, lead and motivate the front line team for the library. You will deliver and encourage a service culture where we adapt to and acknowledge the diversity of our visitors and what they aim to get out of their library visit. You will help people to discover our wide range of resources and services and support our front line teams in providing outstanding customer experiences.
The Library space is highly valued by the Goldsmiths community and the use of our spaces continues to grow. You will take responsibility for ensuring that all our visitors are welcomed into a clean, safe and attractive environment that is inspiring and supports them to explore and learn.
We are looking for confident, enthusiastic person to fill this varied and exciting supervisor role. The post will suit an organised individual who has a real interest in people and who enjoy challenges.
You will need to be an inspiring team leader and a supportive team member, with the ability to work in an ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning, excellent communication and negotiation skills and a resourceful and resilient nature. You will also have strong IT skills.
You'll ideally have some library knowledge and experience, but it'll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out.
Post: This is a full time (1 FTE) post working 35 hours per week. The hours of work will be arranged according to the needs of the service. This will include working on a Saturday and Sunday (1-6pm) every other weekend and some evening working until 9pm.
This post currently involves on campus work and working from home.
