The People & Organisational Development department is a newly established team who work to ensure staff are both committed to and equipped for achieving Goldsmiths’ strategic objectives. Playing a key role in supporting positive cultural change, our vision is to develop a contemporary, solutions focused HR service to support our staff and managers and to enhance the staff experience. About the role
We are looking for a People Systems & Data Manager to play a key role in overseeing and delivering a high quality, effective data and management information service to the college.
Reporting to the Assistant Director (People Operations, Data & Systems), the role holder will be responsible for providing HR Data & Systems services covering the full range of employee life cycle activities and in accordance with service level agreements, KPIs and standard operating procedures.
The role holder will provide support for the maintenance and development of the HR/Payroll System and the online recruitment system and will be responsible for maintaining the quality of HR data and for the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful management information reports for key stakeholders that aid effective organisational development and people management.
In addition, there is an ongoing legal requirement to analyse and share staff data with the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) on an annual basis, and a commitment to providing data and reports to promote decision making across the college.
Working closely with the People Operations Manager, the broader People & Organisational Development Team, and colleagues in Finance/Payroll, the role holder will be expected to liaise with all staff across the college.
About you
The ideal candidate will have a breadth and depth of data and systems management experience in a large complex organisation. You will be a system professional with a passion for working in HR and experience in implementing and developing HR systems, preferably Unit4 Business World (formally known as Agresso).
You will have a system thinking approach to eliminate non-value-adding processes and design an efficient and customer-focused service and will need to be a capable people manager who can drive performance, delegate, and prioritise workload. You will have strong analytical skills with a passion for innovation, knowledge, and data management and should have some knowledge or experience of business and statutory governance reporting, specifically HESA.
This business-critical role will draw upon your project management and communication skills, your experience of stakeholder engagement, experience of team leadership and your ability to work confidently with, challenge and negotiate with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to understand the business needs and build relationships.
Goldsmiths is currently operating on a hybrid-working model, and you will be expected to work on campus for two days a week.
