About the Role

We are seeking a Lecturer to provide maternity cover on the MA Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, across both the on-campus and distance learning pathways. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a pioneering programme that addresses urgent issues related to gender-based violence and trauma.

You will contribute to module delivery and assessment, supervise MA dissertations, and support student learning through in-person and online formats. The role includes responsibilities in developing and maintaining learning resources on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), including the use of platforms such as Articulate. You will work closely with a committed team of colleagues to support high-quality teaching and student experience.

About the Candidate

You will hold a postgraduate qualification (or possess equivalent professional experience) in a relevant field, such as domestic and sexual abuse studies, gender studies, trauma studies, or a related discipline. You will have subject expertise in areas such as domestic abuse, sexual abuse, gender-based violence, trauma, and vicarious trauma. Experience of teaching in higher education, including online or blended learning, is essential.

You will bring a strong understanding of both theoretical frameworks and practice-based knowledge. Competence in using digital learning technologies and a commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed pedagogical approaches are central to this role. Training and support in specific platforms will be provided.
