Jobs at Goldsmiths
Lecturer in Psychodynamic Counselling
The Department of Social, Therapeutic and Community Studies (STaCS) offers an exciting range of academic and professional training programmes across three disciplinary areas: social work, therapeutic studies and community work. The department combines a Widening Participation agenda with innovative and experiential teaching. Counselling training has been established at Goldsmiths for many years. We have a long history of undergraduate and postgraduate professional education and training that we are now seeking to consolidate and develop through the development of related research, CPD opportunities in social, community and psychotherapeutic care.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Counselling with a critical psychodynamic orientation and a focus on diversity and difference (ethnicity/race, gender, sexuality) to contribute to our vibrant MA in Counselling programme. Both clinical experience and supervision experience are essential for this role in both short-term and long-term therapy.
The candidate should have both clinical and supervision experience and some teaching experience in HE or other training programmes. The candidate should demonstrate an ability for an emerging research profile in one or more of the following areas: counselling, psychoanalysis, sexuality and gender studies, race studies, mental health and human rights.
