The Department of Politics and International Relations at Goldsmiths is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Politics and Technology with a research profile that would fit into our broad commitment to developing critical and interdisciplinary approaches to the study of Politics and International Relations. The successful candidate will add to our existing teaching portfolio at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including in the co-taught first year module on World Politics, and will contribute to the development of a new MA programme in the Politics of Conflict, Memory and Justice.

They will also have a strong research profile in at least one of the following areas:

  • technology and social and political conflict
  • surveillance and technologies of political control
  • technology, political mobilisation and civil society
  • technology, memory and justice

At Goldsmiths, we seek to expand and redefine disciplinary boundaries by pushing politics beyond its traditional parameters and comfort zones, thereby critically engaging with and challenging its conventional presuppositions. We approach politics from a variety of critical and interdisciplinary perspectives drawing on insights from a wide range of humanities and social sciences, including politics, economics, sociology, anthropology, history, art and cultural studies.
