This is an exciting time to be joining Goldsmiths. Following the announcement of the new Creative Enterprise Zone in New Cross and Deptford and the award of major external funding to the university, construction work on a new Enterprise Hub at Goldsmiths will begin in the autumn of 2019. The hub will support students / graduates and the local entrepreneurial community by building and maintaining an effective enterprise eco-system which supports the creation of start-up businesses and positive graduate outcomes. The staff team to manage the Enterprise Hub and lead on the development and delivery of a student / graduate enterprise offer will be under the management of the Careers Service.
As the plans for the Enterprise Hub take shape, the enterprise offer to students / graduates will continue to be delivered, with a revamped package of support including workshops, enterprise competitions and 1:1 support, incorporating activities and involvement from academic departments as well as the Careers Service. New ideas will also be trialled, including networking events, external speakers to deliver specific training on start-up topics and work experience in start-up businesses.
The Enterprise Adviser will take the lead in delivering face to face support to students / graduates and will assist the Student Enterprise & Skills Manager and Enterprise Hub Manager to trial new activities to engage the local entrepreneurial community. The post holder will engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best enterprise opportunities are available to Goldsmiths students, graduates and users of the Enterprise Hub.The post holder will be a strong presenter who will inspire and challenge students and graduates through the delivery of enterprise and business development schemes. The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of enterprise start-up, support and growth programmes through the Enterprise Hub.
The role is full time, fixed term until 31st March 2020 and operates normal business hours Monday - Friday, but will require some evening working particularly for events.
