The Director of People and Organisational Development provides expert HR advice to the Warden, Chief Operating Officer, and the College Senior Management Team, leveraging data analysis and market insights to ensure that the college has the right people in place to deliver on its mission and vision.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of People and Organisational Development will drive the strategic development of Goldsmiths academic and professional workforce in conjunction with the Warden and Chief Operating Officer through the development, implementation and ongoing review of the People Strategy, assessing current and future services which will be aligned with the College’s  mission, values and strategy.

Goldsmiths is currently going through a large transformation programme, encompassing a review of the academic portfolio, identification of major financial savings across the institution and the development and implementation of a revised blueprint for the delivery of professional services. The aim is to ensure a future for Goldsmiths which is academically vibrant and financially sustainable. 

The Director of People and Organisational Development role will be crucial to ensure both that Academic Schools, Departments and Professional Services Directorates are effectively supported through their own restructurings and that the re-organisation of HR services is also completed within the necessary timescale.

Following the completion of the Recovery Programme the Director of People and Organisational Development will be responsible for leading and embedding long term change, investment in the College workforce and ensuring sector leading services to all staff.

The Director will have experience in successfully leading, managing and motivating a high functioning portfolio in a complex organisation. Demonstrating a strong track record of resilience, leading, delivering and developing successful people strategies, and services to deliver quality outcomes.
