Goldsmiths is a world-renowned university that has a reputation for rigorous and innovative academic work; creativity has long been our hallmark. Academic excellence and imaginative course content combine to make a place where creative minds can thrive.

The Research and Enterprise Department delivers the University’s Research and Enterprise strategy. The Department’s work includes: the initial identification of opportunities; the development of bids for external funding; collaborations with business; training for academics in research and enterprise; consultancy services and commissioned research; regional development; executive training and short courses; the provision of management information for the University on its performance in these areas; and statutory monitoring and reporting to external funders.

The Deputy Director oversees the day-to-day management of the Research and Enterprise team, which works collaboratively with the University’s academic community to deliver the Research and Enterprise strategy. The post-holder will provide operational leadership to the team, enabling them to provide an effective and efficient service to academics, and will be expected to develop, design and keep under review the systems and processes required to deliver a high quality function.

You will have a demonstrable track record of leading and developing high performing teams, as well as a good understanding of external policy changes that affect current and future requirements and opportunities in relation to Research and Enterprise. We are also seeking an individual with the ability to identify and implement innovative and creative solutions to resolve problems or realise opportunities.
