We are looking for a person to act as a bridge between our department and the rest of Goldsmiths, who will help coordinate and deliver their communications needs. Working predominantly in digital communication, this a key hands-on role.

What you will do

You will ensure that academic departments and professional service teams are supported by experts who understand their needs and priorities.

This role focus on communications using our digital platforms (including, web, social media, email, app) for external audiences, talking about the work of the institution (research, teaching, student success, events, business partnerships, civic mission).

Some projects will be passed to teams within Communications, Marketing and Recruitment (CMR). For others, you will be producing content for our website, social media accounts and multiplatform campaigns. For example, for an event on campus you would talk to the organiser to learn about it and then writing a web article and social media posts to promote it.

We are currently operating hybrid working.  You will be in the office at least two days a week, one of which is a ‘core’ day when the whole team is in. This role is not being offered as remote working only.

Where the role sits

This role sits within the CMR Business Partner team.

The Business Partners are at the centre of our delivery and work with colleagues from across Goldsmiths. With the support of the Business Partner Manager, they are responsible for providing evidence-based outputs that meet the audience’s needs, is aligned to the CMR strategy and business needs, and represent value in terms of time/effort against reach.

We have Business Partners for Communications, Events, Marketing and Student Recruitment. They work together, helping each other out and being flexible about what they do.

What the successful candidate needs

You need to be a good communicator, and be able to take people’s needs and turn them into effective multiplatform communications. This includes being an excellent copywriter and subeditor.

You’ll also be skilled at managing stakeholders with competing needs, helping them with their requirements, diplomatically managing expectations and ensuring they work to our CMR strategy.
