The programme, led by Professor Tara Page (Department of Educational Studies), represents a groundbreaking shift in arts education and teacher professional development. It introduces a holistic, action-research-based approach that empowers schools to critically assess and transform their arts, culture, and creativity practices.

About the Role

Prof Tara Page (Department of Educational Studies) is seconded as Artsmark Project Lead for the duration of the contract, overseeing the project's strategic direction and working closely with the Senior Project Officer (this role) and the Artsmark team at Arts Council England.

Prof Page, to whom the role-holder will have a dotted line of reporting and supported by a teaching team of Goldsmiths academic staff, will deliver the modules of the learning programme. Administrative support is provided by the Research and Knowledge Exchange department, including a dedicated Artsmark Senior Project Officer (this role) and Artsmark Project Officer/s (held by two post holders @ 0.5 FTE), forming the Artsmark Project Team.

  • Delivery of training and support sessions for writing key Artsmark documents: Statement of Commitment and Statement of Impact
  • Provide support for schools at crucial moments through their Artsmark journey including for example: self-assessment, evaluation frameworks and evidencing impact, developing partnerships, supporting pupil voice
  • Resource development
  • Sign-posting schools to cultural partners, LCEPs, and other schools to encourage partnership and peer support
  • Advice giving to support schools with their understanding of the Artsmark process, offer signposting and respond to questions and queries regarding the award
  • Reporting and monitoring
