The Legal Services team within the broader Governance and Legal Services Department provides support across the full range of Goldsmiths’ activities, offering legal advice in areas including: accommodation and estates; procurement and commercial contracts; partnerships and collaborations; charity and corporate governance; consumer protection; general education; freedom of information and data protection, and employment law.
About the Role
The Role Holder will be responsible for providing advice in relation to employment and industrial relations law including: recruitment; employment contracts; disciplinaries and grievances; harassment and bullying; long-term absences; reasonable adjustments; whistleblowing; reward and recognition; statutory consultation, redundancy and dismissal; settlement agreements; trades unions and industrial action; and TUPE. The RH will additionally review and amend policies and procedures, and develop and deliver training in relation to the above areas.
About the Candidate
You will be a qualified lawyer with extensive experience providing employment law and industrial relations advice (almost certainly within the public sector if not previously in HEIs), used to working with a great deal of flexibility and independence in a complex and dynamic environment.
