Many graduates of the Department are among the most recognised names working in art today.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>About the role</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The post-holder is responsible for the implementation of timeline and video-based projects including support in post production software. To be responsible for maintaining audio/visual equipment loans and providing tuition on its usage. The post-holder will work on their own initiative in finding the right solution for any given video project. In this respect the post-holder is expected to regularly self-skill to keep abreast of changes in audio/visual technologies and to implement this skillset in accordance with the demands of Art based video practice.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>About the Candidate</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience delivering timeline and video-based projects, with a strong understanding of professional post-production workflows. They are confident supporting users with video production, editing, and media management, and can communicate technical concepts clearly to people with varying levels of experience.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">They are comfortable working within 3D production pipelines and have practical experience using Blender to support creative projects, whether through modelling, animation, rendering, or asset preparation. They understand how 3D workflows integrate with video production and are confident troubleshooting and supporting others in this area.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The successful candidate is proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development. The post involves teaching across three years, delivering individual and group tutorials, lectures and seminars. You will take responsibility for a year group, do academic administration associated with teaching and assessment, and take part in interviewing of applicants to the programme. The course runs across three years, comprising lectures and seminars in the first year; research based courses on a range of subjects in the second and a 7,500 word dissertation in the third. The post will require an average of two days of teaching per week during term time (Mondays and Wednesdays).</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true"><strong>About the candidate</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will be an artist or art historian with a professional record of international standing, will have experience of teaching in HE Fine Art and be responsive to the varied and specific needs of those on this strongly student-centered course. The School expects that you will have an active and internationally recognised research profile, and that you will produce research outputs to be submitted to the REF. You will demonstrate a serious engagement with your own practice, and an understanding of current and emerging theories, concepts and debates within the field of contemporary art.
