About the department

The Admissions Team sits within the Student and Academic Services Directorate. The team processes applications for Goldsmiths programmes with an emphasis on delivering an excellent applicant experience while recruiting sufficient students to fill available places. Admissions work alongside other Student and Academic Services Directorate teams and Recruitment Teams to maximise conversion of applicants to enrolled students.

About the role

The role of the Admissions Adviser is vital in ensuring that adequate numbers of students are admitted to Goldsmiths and that these students meet all entry requirements. The role is responsible for carrying out thorough quality assurance checks and making decisions on a range of applications in collaboration with academic Admissions Tutors. The role is, most importantly, responsible for providing exemplary customer care to applicants and in supporting them throughout the applicant lifecycle from point of application to arrival.

About the candidate

You will have well-developed administration, organisational, IT, and communication skills. You will work as part of an effective team to process applications to a portfolio of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will be an excellent team player with a pro-active and flexible approach to constantly improving customer service. FM Services sits within the Estates & Facilities Directorate and delivers a wide range of essential facilities support across the Goldsmiths campus. The department provides cleaning, portering, postal operations, waste management and janitorial services that ensure our buildings and spaces remain clean, functional and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

About the role

The FM Cleaning Operative role supports the aims of the Facilities Management team by delivering high-quality cleaning and domestic services across the University estate. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, hygienic and welcoming environments for students, staff and visitors through the delivery of daily cleaning, periodic tasks and responsive support services.

The post holder will work across a variety of campus locations, including academic buildings, offices, communal areas and student accommodation, undertaking a broad range of duties including routine and deep cleaning, waste management, consumable replenishment and emergency cleaning response. Working as part of a dedicated team, the role also contributes to service improvements, supports events and seasonal operations, and helps maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and customer service across the University.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and highly self-motivated practitioner to support Stitch and Fabric within the Department of Art.

Reporting to the Stitch and Fabric Art Practice Area Leader, you will support students and staff in the development and realisation of vastly varied projects involving contemporary art practice, fashion, sculpture and garment construction.

The role will involve supporting 3-Dimensional sculpture and garment construction for a wide range of applications, teaching advanced pattern cutting, supporting digital embroidery, working with latex and inflatable sculptures/costumes, teaching traditional sewing processes and techniques, and liaising with colleagues across 11 Art Practice Areas to support student projects as they move between multiple disciplines to complete their work.

Working with students on both a one-to-one and group basis, you will assess individual project needs and help identify appropriate technical and creative solutions. You will work on your own initiative in responding to a wide range of artistic projects and evolving formats, technologies and source materials, while maintaining an active awareness of developments in contemporary art, fashion, sculpture and industry developments.

You will also contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the Art Practice Area, including maintaining equipment, maintaining stock and consumables, developing technical guidance and instructional materials, and ensuring excellent Health and Safety standards and procedures.

The post-holder is responsible for the implementation of timeline and video-based projects including support in post production software. To be responsible for maintaining audio/visual equipment loans and providing tuition on its usage. The post-holder will work on their own initiative in finding the right solution for any given video project. In this respect the post-holder is expected to regularly self-skill to keep abreast of changes in audio/visual technologies and to implement this skillset in accordance with the demands of Art based video practice.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience delivering timeline and video-based projects, with a strong understanding of professional post-production workflows. They are confident supporting users with video production, editing, and media management, and can communicate technical concepts clearly to people with varying levels of experience.

They are comfortable working within 3D production pipelines and have practical experience using Blender to support creative projects, whether through modelling, animation, rendering, or asset preparation. They understand how 3D workflows integrate with video production and are confident troubleshooting and supporting others in this area.

The successful candidate is proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development. They enjoy solving technical challenges, stay current with developments in audio/visual technologies, and are enthusiastic about supporting innovative, art-based creative practice.
